The Cloverdale City Council will hear a statement this evening from Mayor Todd Lands that denies he told a local property owner that he would “kill” an proposed apartment project. The Alexander Valley Family Apartments have been met with some resistance by neighbors who are worried about the impact to traffic in the area. The neighborhood group has appealed the project which was approved by the the Planning Commission last month. The controversy could result in Lands recusing himself in a final vote. If the appeal fails, construction of the Alexander Valley Family Apartments project could begin as soon as next fall.
