Coronavirus infection numbers continue to grow in Sonoma County, but public health officials don’t believe we’re experiencing another surge. County Health Officer Dr. Sundari Mase believes it’s more of a “wave” than a surge. Despite rising case numbers, two major indicators, the number of patients in intensive care and deaths, remain low. Sonoma County is averaging nearly 19 new cases per day per 100-thousand residents. The positivity rate is 6.6 percent.
