A key state Senate committee has passed a controversial measure to let California children obtain vaccinations without their parents’ permission. The proposal passed the Senate Judiciary Committee last Thursday unanimously but not without heated debate by parents who argued vaccines could injure their children. The proposal would allow children age 12 and older receive vaccinations that are approved by the FDA without their parents’ consent. Public health officials say they’ve begun to see a sixth wave of COVID-19 infections as cases increase again.
