Noose Found at SSU; Police Looking Into Possible Hate Crime

Sonoma State University police are investigating a possible hate crime after a rope tied into a noose was found in a dormitory swimming pool. The incident happened May 2nd. Campus officials found a barbecue grill that had been pushed into the pool. A rope attached to the grill was shaped into a noose hanging on an accessibility lift. The pool is surrounded by a fence, which was closed at the time of the discovery. Police have yet to identify any suspects.
