An unseasonable rise in flu cases has doctors in Sonoma County concerned. The virus is proving to be highly resistant to the 2021-22 flu vaccine and it comes during a period of high COVID transmission. Doctors say they are seeing a surge of two strains of the flu. One is the H3N2 virus, the other is H1N1. Doctors say with the rise of COVID-19 variants as well as mutations of the flu virus, it is becoming harder to predict outbreaks of communicable diseases.
