The California Senate is passing a bill that expands the pandemic provision of to-go-cocktails. A similar law was first enacted in 2021 to help struggling restaurants and bars stay afloat during a time of carry-out-only options and pandemic lock downs measures. Now, Senate Bill 846 aims to keep the to-go cocktail options available, remove the meal requirement for these sales and extend the carry-out cocktail provision to bars, which also have been hard-hit by the pandemic. The bill, written by Senator Bill Dodd, was approved by the Senate unanimously. It now heads to the Assembly for another round of votes.
