Entire families will now be able to get vaccinated against coronavirus.  California’s Health and Human Services Secretary Dr. Mark Ghaly says COVID-19 vaccines are now available for children as young as six months.

“What an exciting time in our fight against Covid-19 now that we have vaccines approved for the younger Californians,” said Dr. Ghaly.

The Western States Scientific Safety Review Workgroup approved the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines for use in Oregon, Washington, California, and Nevada.  The Workgroup says the benefits of the vaccines substantially outweigh any known or likely risks.  On Saturday, the CDC signed off on vaccinations for kids under five clearing the way for shots to be administered immediately.
