Crews are gaining the upper-hand while fighting the McKinney Fire near the California-Oregon border. The state’s largest wildfire of the year has burned over 60-thousand acres and destroyed nearly 90 houses after breaking out in the Klamath National Forest. The Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office announced yesterday that residents in Yreka east of the fire were allowed to return home. The blaze is now 55-percent contained.
