Striking workers are moving one step closer to walking off the picket lines after a tentative agreement between University of California and two of the four groups. The deal is supposed to put around 12-thousand researchers and postdoctoral scholars back to work, but they will remain on strike until the membership ratifies it.  Their agreement includes wage increases of 20 percent or more, child care subsidies and other improvements for international scholars.  But the protests will continue indefinitely for now among the other 36-thousand UC workers, including teacher and research assistants.
