A holocaust survivor and longtime Sonoma County resident is dead at the age of 94. Vera Korkus died in Santa Rosa on Saturday. For a decade, she had lived at Friends House, a senior community in Santa Rosa. The survivor of Nazi concentration camps settled in Sonoma County in the 1960’s and lived there for 56 years. Korkus was one of the estimated more than 67-thousand Holocaust survivors still living in the United States in 2020.
