Theft Stopped at Nike Store in Napa

Arrest of Benshone Carter 2-18-23 (Napa Police)

Napa Police have arrested a man for attempting to steal from a Nike store. Officers were made aware of a retail theft crew from Fresno that were typically targeting Nike stores. On Saturday evening, police spotted a man with bags of merchandise in the Nike store at the Napa Premium Outlets on Freeway Drive. As they approached, the suspect, later identified as Benshone Carter, began walking away and then ran towards his car parked behind the food court emergency exit. He sped out of the parking lot and blew both front tires as he hit the curb. Carter then ran across Highway 29, where he was found hiding in the parking lot of Embassy Suites. Carter’s vehicle was impounded and he was arrested on various charges.
