Three teen girls from Petaluma claim they’re the victims of wage theft at the hands of a local Subway sandwich shop owner. The San Antonio High School students say the franchise owner never paid them the full amount of money they were owed for working. The girls also say they never received tips that were added to electronic payments. And, when they worked an unscheduled shift with the promise of a 50-dollar bonus, they never got that money either. The trio also says they were never interviewed for their jobs, and weren’t asked to supply a work permit from their school, which is required for minors by California law. The Press Democrat reports that the owner of the franchise location, John Meza, has been sentenced in the past on felony counts of tax evasion.
