A plan to pay California homeless students faces its first committee vote today. The bill would give high school seniors one-thousand dollars a month for five months, no strings attached. It’s for kids who don’t have a regular place to stay at night, such as living in motels or cars, or staying with other people due to economic hardship. The bill failed in the assembly last year but the senator behind says he’s made changes.
