A Redwood Valley man is dead after likely being shot during an assault. On Tuesday morning, dispatch was called requesting medical assistance on Tabor Lane in Covelo. Twenty-year-old Nicholas Shehli Whipple was found unresponsive. Life saving efforts failed to revive him and he was pronounced dead. Deputies noticed a possible gunshot wound and think Whipple could’ve died after an assault. Autopsy results haven’t been released.
