Population in Sonoma County Continues its Decline

Sonoma County’s population declined again in 2022, continuing a trend that started after the devastating wildfires in 2017. New state figures show the county lost more than 24-hundred residents between the start of 2022 and the start of 2023. That’s about half a percent of its total population. Most other Bay Area counties also lost more residents than they gained last year. Just 12 of California’s 58 counties saw their populations increase last year.
