There are several ways to observe Memorial Day in Sonoma County on Monday. You can attend the 65th annual Sonoma Valley Joint Memorial Day Observance at 11 AM at the Sonoma Veterans Memorial Park. The keynote speaker is Vietnam War veteran Tony Lazzarini. On Monday at the Santa Rosa Rural Cemetery, free docent-led tours start at noon where you can learn about veterans of the War of 1812, the Mexican War, the Civil War, the Spanish-American War, and World Wars I and II. Petaluma will have an event at Cypress Hill Memorial Park at 11 AM featuring presentations and an Avenue of the Flags. And Rohnert Park will have a Memorial Day celebration at the community center at 10 AM with American Flags lining the street.
