Sonoma County has the second-oldest population in the Bay Area. Census data released this week shows just shy of 137-thousand Sonoma County residents are aged 60 and older. That’s 28-percent of its entire population. Of the nine Bay Area counties, only Marin County has an older population, with 29-point-six-percent of its residents aged 60 and older. Between 2000 and 2020, the percentage of Sonoma County’s population aged 60 and older grew from 16-point-three to 28-percent.
