The Santa Rosa-Petaluma metro area is one of the most expensive places in the nation to raise a child. That’s according to a new report from financial website SmartAsset. It’s the tenth most expensive place to raise a child in the U.S., right behind neighboring Napa. Raising a child in Sonoma County costs an average of more than 29-thousand-dollars per year. That’s almost ten-thousand dollars more than the annual national average. The San Francisco-Oakland-Berkeley metro area came in first on the list.
