Two former minor league hockey players from Santa Rosa have been convicted of sexually assaulting a 20-year-old woman in Reno. Dominic Jones and Moses Matthews were convicted by a jury last month and face up to life in prison with possibility of parole. Matthews also was convicted of capturing and distributing an image of a person’s private area without consent. A third suspect, Josiah Nikkel, was acquitted of sexual assault. The incident happened in February of 2022 while all three were in Reno for a road game as part of the Santa Rosa Growlers. They had assaulted the victim in the hotel room they were sharing.
