There are apparently more White Sharks in coastal California waters than previously thought. Cal State Long Beach has released a new study in which they deployed drones to more than 2 dozen beaches up and down the coast. Researchers found that the two highest concentrations of juvenile white sharks were at beaches in southern Santa Barbara County and central San Diego County. Not only that, but the study shows that people and sharks were found swimming together at those two spots 97-percent of the time. People in the water couldn’t see the sharks, who were generally within 50 yards of where the waves break, but the aerial drones could easily spot the sharks. Despite that proximity, no shark bites were reported during the 2 year span of the study.
