There’s a new push to teach California students how to spot fake news on social media. Assemblyman Marc Berman wants to make it mandatory for kindergarten through 12th grade. His bill would require schools include media literacy by 2025, becoming the fourth state in the nation to do so. The goal is to also help students resist cyber bullying and hate speech. The bill already passed one hurdle and is now before a Senate committee.
