Animal Abuse Charges Suggested to DA Over Death of Horse in Santa Rosa

Sonoma County Animal Services is recommending the Sonoma County District Attorney’s Office file felony animal abuse charges against the owner of a horse that died on a property in Santa Rosa last month. The D.A.’s Office received an official report from animal services this week. Neighbors say a dog repeatedly harassed and chased an emaciated horse around a pasture every day for up to a year. On July 10th, the dog attacked the horse. A vet euthanized the horse due to its injuries. The dog was later put down as well.
