Supervisor David Rabbitt Named Sonoma County Board Chair for 2024

With the new year comes a new Chair of the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors. At yesterday’s meeting, 2nd District Supervisor David Rabbitt was elected chair of the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors who takes the gavel from 3rd District Supervisor Chris Coursey. Additionally, Supervisor Lynda Hopkins was named vice chair, and Supervisor James Gore was named chair pro-tem. The chair serves as the presiding officer of the board, rules on questions of procedure, appoints members to committees and special assignments, and executes official board records and documents presented by the County Administrator/Clerk. The position usually gets rotated among the supervisors on an annual basis.
