Sebastopol Safeway Urged to Add More Security to Respond to Spike in Crime

A police chief in Sonoma County is pleading with a Safeway to take urgent action. Ronald Nelson says the Sebastopol store needs to hire more security during afternoon hours due a spike in crime. He points out high school students are often to blame and that’s raising alarm among shoppers and parents. Nelson sent a letter to the president of the grocery chain giant in Northern California offering to help come up with tactics to make the store safe.
