Former Windsor Mayor Dominic Foppoli Not Being Criminally Charged for Sexual Assault

The California Attorney General’s Office is not filing charges against former Windsor mayor, Dominic Foppoli, after he was accused of sexually assaulting multiple women nearly three years ago. Attorney General Rob Bonta said that there isn’t enough evidence to warrant filing charges. The Attorney General’s Office had both reviewed the investigation done by the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office and conducted its own investigation. The criminal inquiry was opened after allegations were made by an initial group of four women. The women came forward in an April 2021 San Francisco Chronicle story that detailed accusations of sexual assault or misconduct by Foppoli. There are still civil cases pending against the former mayor.
