2024 Summer Repaving Work for Sonoma County Roads Announced

Summer is almost here and so is mass repaving work for Sonoma County roads. The Summer 2024 road resurfacing program was announced yesterday which identified work on nearly 30 miles of roadwork across 45 separate county-maintained roads. Residents who live near project sites will be notified by county contractors in advance of the start of work. All impacted road users are asked to plan ahead, follow signage for detours and slow down in the vicinity of work crews. The county is also doing additional roadwork county-wide ranging from vegetation work, landslide repairs, and multiple bridge maintenance projects. Those bridge projects include replacing a bridge on Geysers Road over Big Sulphur Creek and beginning a seismic retrofit of Wohler Road Bridge over the Russian River.

Segments of the following roads are scheduled for treatment in 2024:

The cost of all paving and construction projects in 2024 totals $67 million and is funded by a combination of County General Funds from the Board of Supervisors, PG&E Settlement funds, Federal Highway Bridge Program funds, Sonoma County Transportation Authority funds and disaster reimbursement from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
