Multiple homeowners and businesses are left in the lurch after a Santa Rosa contractor has seemingly disappeared. The Press Democrat reports that Cory Lacey, through his business The Lacey Construction Company, has left a trail of more than a dozen unfinished projects and unpaid suppliers and employees in the last year while he’s nowhere to be found. One project involved construction of an ADU in which Lacey was paid over a quarter-of-a-million dollars. The project remains unfinished, leaving the client to shell out over $125-thousand for another contractor to finish it. At least three breach of contract lawsuits as well as four small claims cases are active against Lacey, ranging from $3,000 to more than $7,000 in money owed. Lacey’s office in downtown Santa Rosa has been vacant for months.
