The Petaluma City Council approved an action to reduce speed limits on streets near schools and in the downtown area. Over the next several months, speed limits within 500 feet of schools will be reduced from 25 to 15 miles per hour when students are present. Speed limits in the downtown area will be reduced from 25 to 20 miles per hour. Keep an eye out for new speed limit signage around schools and in downtown Petaluma.
