Land Deal for Santa Rosa’s “Central Park” Expected to Be Voted On Today

Southeast Greenway project (City of Santa Rosa)

State transportation officials are expected to approve selling to Santa Rosa a 2-mile strip of state-owned land off of Highway 12 to create what has long been envisioned as a “central park” for the city. The California Transportation Commission will cover it during its meeting Thursday. The sale price for the 49-acre property is set at just over $1.8 million dollars. The vote marks another key step in a 15-year effort to transform the property into what’s known as the Southeast Greenway. The sale is expected to be completed by the end of July.
