Sebastopol Moves Closer to Raising Rates for Water and Sewer

Sebastopol is one step away from increasing its water and sewer rates. In a split vote cast this week, the Sebastopol City Council voted to move forward with the rate hikes. A final vote is scheduled for June 18th. If passed, the changes would take effect in July. The average single-family home would see its bi-monthly water bill increase from 45 dollars-one cent to 57-dollars-77 cents. And, the average bi-monthly wastewater bill would increase from 69 dollars-24 cents to 94 dollars-four cents. The rates would be the second most expensive in Sonoma County, behind Healdsburg.
