Speed Tables Might Be More Common in Sonoma County

Speed tables are being considered as a viable, more cost-effective traffic calming option for Sonoma County. Speed tables are longer, flat-topped versions of speed humps. A recent traffic study suggests speed tables would work in slowing down traffic on the main streets through Downtown Penngrove. The study estimates 15 planned speed tables would cost a total of 400-thousand-dollars, or a little more than 26-thousand-dollars each. Other options like roundabouts typically cost millions of dollars. Santa Rosa has seven speed tables on Humboldt Street, also known as bicycle boulevard.
