The Golden State is teaming up with Nvidia on a new initiative to expand access and provide artificial intelligence tools to more Californians. North Bay State Senator Bill Dodd, who has been a leader in AI legislation, is looking forward to this collaboration.
“This kind of forward-looking collaboration with the private sector will help ensure California remains a leader in the new AI economy,” Senator Dodd said. “From workforce training to jobs creation to addressing the significant issues posed by AI, this partnership puts the state right where it needs to be to ensure it is at the forefront for generations to come.”
The initiative signed by Governor Gavin Newsom and Nvidia founder and CEO Jensen Huang aims to train people on new AI technology, support job creation and promote innovation and use AI to solve challenges that improve the lives of California residents. Another goal is to bring new AI resources into community colleges so students, educators and workers can learn new skills and advance their careers. The initiative builds off of Newsom’s executive order, which called for the state to utilize AI to best serve Californians.
