A former Rohnert Park police officer accused of extortion will not face a jury until next year. Joseph Huffaker’s trial has been rescheduled to July 10, 2025. It had been scheduled to start this week. He is accused of illegally seizing cannabis from drivers during traffic stops and falsifying records. A former sergeant, Brendan Tatum, who led the operation, pleaded guilty and is awaiting sentencing.
