Heat advisory for the Bay Area from Monday 9-30-24 to Wednesday 10-2-24 (National Weather Service)
The North Bay will be under a heat advisory from eleven o’clock this morning through eleven o’clock Wednesday night. The National Weather Service says, during that period, inland areas could see highs of up to 105 degrees. Santa Rosa is looking at highs of 94-degrees today, 102-degrees tomorrow and 100-degrees on Wednesday. If Santa Rosa starts October at 102-degrees, it would tie a record set in 1980. There will be some relief at night, with lows expected to be in the upper 50s to low 60s.
More than 400 PG&E customers in Sonoma and Napa Counties will be without power today and tomorrow. The company is issuing public safety power shutoffs, due to the elevated wildfire risk. The temporary shutoffs are broken down to 268 customers in Sonoma County and 140 in Napa County, all of whom have already been warned.
