The Koi Nation is one step closer to realizing its dream of building a large casino and resort in the Shiloh area outside of Windsor. The Bureau of Indian Affairs has released its final environmental impact statement for the project, opening a 30-day public comment period.

If approved, the casino would be one of the largest in Northern California. However, the project has faced significant opposition from local residents and elected officials who are concerned about potential impacts on traffic, public safety, and the environment.

The final decision on the project rests with the U.S. Department of the Interior. If approved, the project is likely to face legal challenges.
