Santa Rosa Police Department’s Special Enforcement Team conducted a probation search on Cleveland Avenue late Saturday night, leading to the arrest of 24-year-old Joshua Mendoza.

During the search, officers discovered a handgun magazine in Mendoza’s pocket, and a subsequent search of the room turned up suspected narcotics, drug paraphernalia, and a hidden handgun in an air vent. The magazine found on Mendoza matched the discovered firearm.

Mendoza now faces multiple felony and misdemeanor charges, including possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia, in addition to three outstanding warrants.
