Seniors are outnumbering children in the North Bay.
Data released by the U.S. Census Bureau this week shows there are more seniors than residents younger than age of 18 in Sonoma, Napa and Marin counties. The same is true for San Francisco. In the Bay Area, the youth and middle-aged population is stagnant, and, in some counties, it’s even decreasing.
The senior population has been increasing since the worst of the pandemic in 2020.
