Authorities have identified the 84-year-old woman who died in a house fire Friday night in Santa Rosa.
According to the Press Democrat, the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office says Lorraine Emery was found by firefighters inside a duplex on Greeneich Avenue.
Despite arriving within five minutes, crews were unable to save Emery, who succumbed to smoke inhalation and burns. A second resident was hospitalized for smoke inhalation, and three others have been displaced by the blaze.
Investigators believe the fire was electrical and likely started in a rear kitchen, causing an estimated $400,000 in damage.
