Record SRJC Bond Measure Heading to Ballot

A record eight-hundred-and-thirty-million-dollar bond measure is officially heading to the November ballot to help Santa Rosa Junior College tackle critical facility upgrades.

The Press Democrat reports the college’s Board of Trustees voted to place the proposal before voters, aiming to modernize the hundred-and-eight-year-old institution and address a massive one-point-seven-five-billion-dollar maintenance backlog.

Funds would go toward vital infrastructure needs like roof repairs, seismic safety upgrades, and utility improvements without raising current property tax rates for residents. College officials warn that without this bond, the district would be forced to divert operational funds away from students and staff to cover emergency repairs.

Recent polling indicates strong local support, with the measure already tracking above the fifty-five percent threshold required to pass.
