A luxury wine country retreat has snagged the ultimate crown in travel less than a year after opening its doors.
The Press Democrat reports Appellation Healdsburg was just named the top resort in both California and the continental United States in Travel + Leisure’s annual World’s Best Awards.
The 108-room resort was developed by Michelin-starred chef Charlie Palmer and former Four Seasons executive Christopher Hunsberger on an eight-and-a-half-acre site. The property celebrates Sonoma County’s food and wine culture with two signature restaurants, culinary gardens, and artisan-led workshops.
The top ranking will be featured in the magazine’s August issue, highlighting a major win for the Appellation brand as it prepares to open future locations in Petaluma, Morgan Hill, and Pacific Grove.
