The Sonoma Valley wine community is mourning the loss of Leslie Hennessy Jr., an entrepreneurial industry leader and the host of KSVY’s “Wine Around with Hennessy.”
According to the Sonoma Index-Tribune, Hennessy passed away last month at the age of 79, leaving behind a rich sixty-year legacy as a winemaker, retail expert, and educator.
Known for his playful and conversational broadcasting style, he used his weekly radio show to share his deep passion and curiosity for the stories behind every bottle. In addition to his radio work, Hennessy was a valued board member of the Sonoma Home Winemakers and pioneered local youth scholarship programs.
Local residents and wine enthusiasts are invited to celebrate his vibrant life in the Sonoma Community Center’s Secret Garden on Saturday, July 25th.
