A beloved Santa Rosa staple is closing its doors for good after more than sixty years of serving local families.
The Press Democrat reports the Presbyterian Preschool on Pacific Avenue has officially shuttered following declining enrollment and a shift in demand away from its traditional, part-time model. Longtime staff and community members are mourning the loss of the play-based icon, which struggled to compete with free transitional kindergarten and the modern need for full-time care.
However, the campus is already finding new life through a partnership with the North Bay Children’s Center.
The nonprofit recently launched a full-day, year-round program in the historic space, offering much-needed care for local infants through preschool-aged kids.
