Sonoma State University President Mike Lee is speaking out after an audit was released last week concerning a large number of sexual harassment complaints. Lee spoke with the Press Democrat about the report and said that this is an issue “close to my heart.” Lee says sexual harassment will not be tolerated and encourages anyone who’s been a victim of sexual harassment on campus to come forward and speak out. Lee, though, couldn’t go into specifics of how this will be fixed as he said an implementation team will have to look at that further, expecting recommendations in the fall. An audit released last week found that Sonoma State had one of the highest rates of sexual harassment complaints in the California State University system. It also found that SSU used questionable interpretations of harassment policies.
