Varenna at Fountaingrove is facing a lawsuit over claims it prevented a resident from using independent, outside caregivers, instead forcing her to rely strictly on in-house staff.
According to the complaint, this policy resulted in long delays for assistance and unsanitary living conditions. Attorneys for the resident argue that California law explicitly guarantees assisted living residents the right to hire private care.
Meanwhile, management for the Santa Rosa facility denies the allegations, maintaining that they remain committed to providing high-quality care.
