About Ray Isle
Ray Isle is the Executive Wine Editor for Food & Wine and wine editor for Travel + Leisure, where he has spent more than two decades covering the world of wine, spirits, food, and travel. Since beginning his full-time wine journalism career in 2000, Ray has become one of the industry’s most respected voices, writing the monthly “What to Drink Next” column along with numerous feature stories for leading national publications including Time, The Washington Post, and Martha Stewart Living. His acclaimed book, The World in a Wineglass, was published in 2023.
A three-time winner of the International Association of Culinary Professionals award for narrative beverage writing, Ray is also a frequent guest on national media outlets including NBC’s Today, CNBC, ABC’s The View, and NPR. In addition to his journalism career, he has taught creative writing at Stanford University as a Stegner Fellow and Jones Lecturer. Originally from Houston, Ray holds degrees from Rice University and Boston University and now lives in Brooklyn with his family.
