SUMMARY:Summit Saturday: Red Hill at Sugarloaf Ridge State Park
DESCRIPTION:If you have previously completed the Intermediate Hiking for Fitness Program or can hike 6.5 miles with at least 1\,600ft of elevation\, this hike may be right for you. We strongly recommend completion of the shorter version of the Bald Mt. hike (in and out via Bald Mountain Trail) as a pre-requisite. \nThis hike will take place (mostly) at Sugarloaf’s McCormick Addition\, starting at the Los Alamos Rd entrance to Hood Mountain Regional Park. From the Los Alamos parking lot\, we will start out on Hood Mtn Rd and cross into Sugarloaf at Salt Creek. We will take Quercus\, Headwaters\, and Grandmother Oak Trails to Red Hill. From there\, we will follow a game trail to return to Maple Glen Trail where we will have lunch. We return via Maple Glen to Headwaters Trail and backtrack to the parking lot. \nThis event requires advance registration; day-of on site tickets will not be available. There is a $10 deposit per ticket\, which will be returned post-hike\, unless you choose to donate it to support Sugarloaf. Wear appropriate footwear for rocky/slippery trails and multiple layers. Be prepared for two slippery water crossings; we strongly recommend bringing water shoes\, hiking poles\, and an additional pair of socks. Bring your lunch\, at least two quarts of water\, and sun protection. Heavy rains cancel. The Regional Park parking fee ($8 daily) applies.

SUMMARY:Postcards - Occidental Community Choir Spring 2026 Concert Series
DESCRIPTION:The Occidental Community Choir puts on live concerts featuring an eclectic mix of locally composed music\, classical and contemporary choral pieces\, poetry\, and spoken word from our community in the redwoods of Northern California. \nThe Occidental Community Choir invites audiences to its Spring concert series\, Postcards\, a musical journey through memory\, connection\, and the moments that shape our lives. In times that can feel uncertain or isolating\, even small gestures of connection—a postcard\, a call\, a simple message saying “I’m thinking of you”—can remind us that we are not alone. Postcards is built around that spirit of reaching out. Each piece in the program serves as a musical postcard: a snapshot from a particular time and place\, carrying stories of joy\, longing\, hope\, and reflection. \nSome of these musical postcards arrive bright and sun-drenched; others carry the weathered edges of memory. Together they form a collection of moments that remind us our lives are measured not only in years\, but in the experiences that stay with us and the ones we share with others. Through song\, the choir becomes both sender and recipient—offering voices as messages of care\, presence\, and connection. Postcards is a reminder that even in difficult times\, music can help us reach across distance and say something simple and powerful: you matter\, you are connected\, and you are not alone. \nJoin the Occidental Community Choir this spring for an evening of music that carries stories\, memories\, and hope into a weary and waiting world.

SUMMARY:Annie Elizabeth Comedy at The California Theatre
DESCRIPTION:Annie Elizabeth is a Los Angeles-based stand-up comedian currently on her debut national tour - and she's doing it while undergoing treatment for breast cancer.\n\nSix months ago\, Annie was diagnosed with a rare form of breast cancer. The kind that\, not long ago\, had no good options. But\, thanks to decades of cancer research\, she has a 97% chance of survival. That news didn't just change her prognosis - it changed everything. She quit her day job\, booked her first tour\, and decided that if life was going to be this short and this strange\, she was going to spend it doing exactly what she loves - Standup Comedy.\n\nPositive Results is the show that came out of all of it. It's about getting the call no one wants\, about the absurdity of sitting in a doctor's office and laughing anyway\, about family and fear and the reckless\, beautiful decision to finally go after your dreams. It is dark and funny and deeply human - and a portion of every ticket sold goes directly to the cancer research that saved Annie's life.\n\nAnnie Elizabeth performs regularly in Los Angeles\, CA. Positive Results is her first national tour.\n\nTICKETS:\nPURCHASE IN ADVANCE AND SAVE!\nZones A and B ensure a seat. Zone C has limited seating\, plus standing room.\nZone A $30\nZone B $25\nZone C $20 (does not guarantee seating)\nTickets at the door $30 (Zone C only)\n\nDoors open 6:30pm.\nOur kitchen serves our All New Menu from the time doors open until end of intermission. (Kitchen available only at events with 60 or more advance tickets sold)\nDate and Time: 12th May 2026\, 7:30 PM - 9:00 PM\n\nVenue Details: The California Theatre of Santa Rosa\, 528 7th Street\, Santa Rosa\, California\, 95401\, United States
