Highway 101 in downtown Santa Rosa was briefly shut down this morning due to a possible explosive device near the highway per the CHP.
Workers from Cal Trans found the device near a sound wall along the West Third street on-ramp. They took a photo and immediately sent it to the CHP for evaluation near 10am this morning.
Law enforcement officials shut down Highway 101 in downtown Santa Rosa briefly Monday morning due to a possible pipe bomb found near the highway, according to the CHP. Around 10:30am this morning, Highway 101 was closed in both directions so a law enforcement bomb squad could blow up the device. Highway 101 was then reopened shortly before 11am.
