A King City man is facing multiple felony charges after he allegedly drove his van into his ex-girlfriend before leading police on a short chase through Petaluma over the weekend. Witnesses report that 24-year-old Gerardo Hernandez drove his vehicle into his ex and another man at about 30 miles per hour in the East Washington Street SMART Train parking lot Saturday afternoon. Responding officers chased Hernandez through city streets and eventually caught up with him after a short foot pursuit. The suspect’s vehicle had been tied to a domestic violence incident on Friday and Hernandez is in Sonoma County Jail on one-million dollars bail for attempted murder, felony DUI, evading police, and other charges. The two victims were taken to a local hospital and are expected to recover.
