A plan to install streetlight cameras with microphones along San Francisco city streets is being discussed, but some people are firmly against the idea. The San Francisco Public Utilities Commission could shell out nearly 20-million dollars for the cameras, saying the attached microphones could aid law enforcement by capturing sounds like gunshots or glass breaking. Some residents and even members of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors are expressing privacy concerns should the cameras be installed.
