Several high-profile women are coming together to speak about sexual harassment here in California. In North Hollywood, actresses Mira Sorvino and Rosanna Arquette and a handful of lawmakers highlighted harassment laws that will be taking effect in January. Sorvino was among the first women to come forward with allegations against film producer Harvey Weinstein.

The group says work still needs to be done to protect future victims. Weinstein is headed for trial for rape and sex assault charges.

The MeToo movement is also changing legislation in California and around the country. Chino State Senator Connie Leyva says laws are now on the books that limit nondisclosure agreements in harassment settlements.

Leyva says she hopes a message is being sent that victims of sexual misconduct are being taken seriously and that things are changing.
